Today’s my birthday! 🎉 And yes, I could talk about cake, candles, and the fact that I’m getting older (though I promise I’m still young at heart 😊).
Some might see it as just another reminder that time is passing, but I see it as a reminder that God is still faithful.
Each candle isn’t just a number—it’s a story, a season, a blessing. And together, they’re a testimony of grace.
Jesus once said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). So as I count my candles today, I don’t just see years—I see chances. Chances to shine brighter for Him.
Some candles represent joy-filled moments, others mark seasons of trial and tears. Yet through it all, God has kept the flame lit. And that’s what I want to celebrate—not just the candles on my cake, but the blessings they represent.
But here’s the thing: today isn’t just about me. On my birthday, I want to give a gift to you. So here’s my birthday prayer for you:
🌿 I pray Peace for you— the kind that silences anxiety and steadies your heart, even when storms are raging (Philippians 4:7).
🌿 I pray Joy for you — not the fragile joy that depends on circumstances, but the deep-down kind that bubbles up because you know Who holds your future (John 16:22).
🌿 I pray strength for you — to endure trials with courage, to rise when you’ve fallen, and to keep pressing forward when the journey feels long (Isaiah 40:31).
🌿 I pray Closeness with God for you— that you’ll lean in to hear His whispers, walk in step with His Spirit, and find Him to be the truest Friend you’ll ever have (James 4:8).
As I blow out my birthday candles today, my wish isn’t for more stuff, more success, or even more years. My wish is this: that you and I will keep walking closer to Jesus, until the day we see Him face to face.
Happy Labor Day, friends—and from my heart to yours, may today be filled with rest, gratitude, and the sweet assurance that God is still at work in you.
