This morning, I cracked open my Bible and read the longest chapter in Scripture—Psalm 119. All 176 verses. And guess what? I needed every single one.

Psalm 119 isn’t just long—it’s laser-focused. Every verse, in some form, points me back to one central theme: God’s law, His precepts, His commandments, His Word. It’s as if David sat down with a single, burning passion and said,
“Lord, I want to know You more, and I know the way to do that is by keeping Your Word.”
Oof. Conviction landed hard.
You see, I love God. I do. But when I looked in the mirror of Psalm 119, I saw areas where my obedience has been… selective. Delayed. Convenient. And sometimes even distracted by all the noise life throws at me.

But the psalmist? He’s hungry for righteousness. Desperate for God’s truth. He prays things like:
“Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!” (v. 5)
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” (v. 11)
“Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart.” (v. 34)
All my heart. That’s the part that got me.
Sometimes, if I’m honest, I give God half my heart. A quarter on a busy day.

But Psalm 119 is a passionate love song to God’s law. It’s not dry, stiff obedience—it’s a delight.
Over and over again, the psalmist says he loves God’s commands. He rejoices in them. He even says they’re better than gold (v. 72).
So today, I’m recommitting. Not just to reading the Word, but to loving it. Living it. Letting it convict me, correct me, and carry me.

Friend, maybe you’ve felt the same nudge. Maybe life’s been too busy or your spiritual spark has dimmed a bit. Psalm 119 reminds us that revival starts not with a mountaintop moment, but with a quiet return to the Word of God.
Let’s be a Psalm 119 kind of people—rooted, real, and all in.

Prayer:🙏
Lord, plant Your Word deep in my heart. Help me to delight in Your truth. Teach me to obey, not out of duty, but out of love. Make me steadfast. Make me whole. Make me Yours. Amen.
