Have you ever been in a season where you just want to protect your peace?
Not because you’re angry or bitter — but because you can feel your calm being quietly tested?
That’s been me lately.

I’m usually not easily annoyed or upset. It takes a lot to shake me — you’d have to get through layers of my intellect, my professionalism, my personality, and most of all, my relationship with God. But sometimes, it feels like the enemy tries to peel those layers back, one by one.
And when that happens, I pray. I breathe. I whisper Scripture. And I turn up my CeCe Winans playlist — especially the song “Peace.”
🎵 “No more tears, no more fears… You are my peace.”
Those lyrics wrap around me like a warm blanket. They remind me that peace isn’t about perfect circumstances — it’s about perfect trust.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” — Isaiah 26:3
When I think about protecting my peace, I think of Hannah.

She had every reason to lose hers — provoked by Peninnah, misunderstood by her husband, and judged by the priest. But instead of lashing out, she went into the presence of God.
She didn’t argue. She didn’t explain. She prayed.
And in that moment, she showed me what it means to guard peace through surrender.
“In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly.” — 1 Samuel 1:10
Hannah poured it all out before God and walked away differently. The Bible says her face was no longer sad (1 Samuel 1:18).
That’s peace — the kind that prayer births and the world can’t steal.
So when my own peace feels fragile, I remind myself — if Hannah could keep her calm while being provoked, then I can hold my peace while being pressed.
Because the same God who heard her whispers, hears mine too.
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:7
So today, I choose peace — not because life is easy, but because it’s a better route to take than where I know the opposite can lead me.
And when I hum CeCe’s words again,
🎵 “There’s a place inside where I find rest… I run to You, Jesus, You’re my peace,”
I smile and whisper,
“Lord, help me to stay like Hannah — quiet, trusting, and peaceful.”
Because peace isn’t something I fight for —
it’s Someone I run to.
🕊️ “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14
And I know you understand, Nuggetland — because you’ve been there too. Haven’t you? You’ve felt those moments when your patience runs thin, your spirit feels weary, and your joy seems to slip away.
So I came by today to encourage you: hold your peace. Don’t let anyone or anything steal the stillness God has placed inside you.
Breathe before you react.
Pray before you speak.
And when the pressure rises, just whisper, “Jesus, You are my peace.”
He hasn’t left you. He’s just teaching you to rest — right in the middle of the storm.
Remember — peace isn’t the absence of chaos, it’s the presence of Christ.
Protect your peace!
