This morning, I bit into a mango so sweet I had to close my eyes. It wasn’t just delicious—it was divine. For a moment, I was somewhere else. Not in my kitchen. Not, in Florida, not even in Jamaica. I was gone—transcended, lifted, wrapped in golden sunlight and a stillness that tasted like eternity.

How could one fruit do that?
It made me wonder: if a mango grown in fallen soil, under cursed ground (Genesis 3:17), could taste that good—what must heaven be like?
The Bible says:
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”
—Psalm 34:8 (NKJV)
Now, I’ve tasted mangoes, pineapples, and sugarcane that’ll make you hum a hymn. But none of it compares to the sweetness of knowing Jesus. Still, this morning, I couldn’t help but realize that God gives us these earthly hints—mangoes, morning breezes, warm hugs—as a preview. He gave me a sample platter. A “try before I fly.”
Friends, heaven must be sweet!
Not just in taste, but in feeling. No hospital visits. No anxious prayers. No tears falling in the dark. Just joy, pure and unfiltered. Peace, uninterrupted.
Revelation 21:4 gives us the menu:
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
—Revelation 21:4 (NKJV)
That mango whispered this truth: we were made for more. The juice that dripped down my chin this morning wasn’t just fruit—it was hope. A fruity reminder that if this is what sweetness tastes like here, we haven’t even begun to comprehend what’s waiting there.

One day, I believe I’ll walk through Heaven’s orchard. I imagine trees taller than skyscrapers, with fruit that glows like morning light and tastes like joy bottled up.
The songwriter had it right when they said:
**“I’ve got a mansion just over the hilltop,
In that bright land where we’ll never grow old;
And someday yonder we will never more wander
But walk on streets.
Beulah Land, sweet Beulah land. Someday, on thee I’ll stand!
