Heaven in the Details

This morning, Sarai and I stepped outside our camping cabin for a simple prayer walk—but what we received was nothing short of divine. The air was crisp, the sun painted the sky with golden hope, and a choir of geese lifted their voices as if heaven had nudged them to sing a morning hymn. We strolled along a quiet pond, hand in hand, whispering prayers, offering thanks.

I was already filled with awe—just soaking in the majesty of the moment—when God whispered louder.

My phone buzzed. A voice note came through. A dear friend said, “God impressed me this morning to pray for you and your family. So I did.”

My heart responded with a silent thank You, Jesus.

I had just finished listening when another message arrived. This time, from someone anonymous. Just checking in. Just sending love. Just wishing me well.

Two back-to-back reminders that I am seen. Known. Cared for.

• I saw God in the sunrise.
• I heard Him in the geese.
• I felt Him in the prayers.
• I recognized Him in the check-in.

God is in the details.

We often look for Him in the dramatic—in the miracles, in the breakthroughs, in the fire-from-heaven moments. But more often, He whispers through the rhythm of a goose call, the tenderness of a child’s footsteps beside you, the timing of a text you didn’t expect.

Heaven is paying attention.

This morning reminded me that God doesn’t just move in mighty waves—He also moves in still waters and sweet surprises.

Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.– Isaiah 65:24

Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” – Luke 12:7

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” – Psalm 37:23
