A Crown of Love: Celebrating Mama This Mother’s Day!

Spread the love

Well, blow up the balloons, butter the biscuits, and bring out the biggest bouquet you can find—because it’s Mother’s Day! And let me tell you, if ever there was a day to shower Mama with love, foot rubs, handwritten notes, and maybe a few chocolate-covered somethings—it’s this one!

But here’s the thing. Mother’s Day isn’t just about carnations and cards. Oh no! It’s about honoring the fierce, faithful, fabulous women who build nations from their kitchens, prayer closets, and bedtime lullabies.

The Original Superwoman

The Bible doesn’t hold back when it talks about what a true mama is made of.

“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her” (Proverbs 31:28, NIV).

Can we just pause and give a round of applause right there? Because that’s the kind of woman who gets up with the sun, slaps together lunchboxes with sleepy eyes, and still manages to pray over her babies like a warrior on the frontlines.

And you know what? That’s exactly how heaven sees her too.

One of my favorite authors knew the power and influence of mothers. She wrote:

“The mother is the queen of the home, and the children are her subjects. She is to rule her household wisely, in the dignity of her motherhood” (Adventist Home, p. 231).

Now tell me that doesn’t sound like royalty! A mother’s influence is the kind that echoes into eternity. She’s not just raising children—she’s shaping futures. And when she fills her heart and home with Jesus? Whew! That’s a recipe for heavenly power!

Heaven’s MVP

Whether she’s single or married, working or stay-at-home, biological, adoptive, foster, or spiritual—if she loves and leads with a Christ-centered heart, she’s one of heaven’s MVPs.

A Mother’s Prayers Never Die

If you’re a mama reading this, let me whisper a little something to your heart: God sees you. He hears the prayers you pray through clenched teeth and teary eyes. He’s holding your hand through the tantrums, the teenage questions, the tiny socks and college applications.

“The influence of a praying, God-fearing mother will last through time and into eternity.” —E.G. White

Let’s Celebrate with Heaven’s Eyes

So this Mother’s Day, let’s celebrate BIG. Let’s thank God for the women who’ve wiped our noses and tears, who’ve taught us how to tie our shoes and hold our heads high. Let’s call them, hug them, write to them—and for those whose mothers now sleep in Jesus, let’s remember their legacy with joy and hope.

And to every mother reading this: thank you for saying yes to one of the hardest, holiest callings on earth. Your crown awaits, Queen.

Closing Prayer Nugget:

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of mothers. Strengthen them, refresh them, and remind them today that their love is a mirror of Yours. Bless every heart that nurtures, comforts, teaches, and prays. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
